A wife and mother of 4 children, Tomi has balanced family life with her personal career. As well she’s found time to serve her community as a volunteer in the political realm as long time Town Meeting member and Chair of the Belmont Republican Town Committee. Tomi’s distinctive blend of private sector and public experience sector makes her by far the most qualified candidate for State Representative in this race. Her experience in both finance and education is exactly what is needed on Beacon Hill. Her years of service as a Belmont Town Meeting member and on various boards and commissions, have prepared to hit the road running as legislator." DEC. 2012 "Everett Democrat Rep. Stephen "Stat" Smith will resign, effective Jan. 1, after federal prosecutors announced Thursday that he has agreed to plead guilty to civil rights violations for his role in submitting absentee ballot applications and casting invalid ballots during elections in 2009 and 2010. U.S. Attorney Carmen Ortiz announced the news, saying Smith, 57, will plead guilty to two misdemeanor counts of deprivation of rights under color of law. Under his plea agreement, he will not be allowed to seek elected office for five years. Prosecutors said Smith is alleged to have cast invalid absentee ballots in support of his races for office for voters who were ineligible or unaware of ballots being cast in their names." |

Bottom line, while he pledges not to support any additional taxes moving forward, his 2009 rating from CLT was 27%. He voted for the sales tax increase, meals tax increase, tax on booze, etc., etc., etc.....

DID WE GET A RATING WRONG? Your candidate may be pro-life or pro-abortion. That is his/her option. This site is designed to reflect votes and positions so that YOU know what your candidate's CORE position is on various issues. In the future, our database of each candidate's rating will contain links detailing the candidate's database of votes which earned each particular rating (except congressional, as their ratings are easily tracked at projectvotesmart). |

Information listed is based on best available public information, voting records, roll calls, endorsements promoted by candidates, and/or comments made by candidates. We highly recommend that if you have any concrete information to the contrary, please forward it to us so that our review board may confirm the information and post any changes. During the review period, the current posting will be flagged accordingly. We thank you for your attention and help in this matter. Please keep in mind, one "good" vote on a issue does not counter multiple "bad" votes on an issue. We seek to accurately reflect the "CORE" values of each candidate.
